Post-Apology Stage: Commit

Seize the time… Live now! Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again.

– jean-luc picard, starfleet captain

victim

The victim now carries expectations, maybe even optimism. They will be monitoring the wrongdoer to see if promises for restitution are kept. Just because a victim does not bring up their observations in conversation does not mean they are not keeping close tabs on progress or commitment.

wrongdoer

The wrongdoer now holds a clear roadmap to earning forgiveness. The wrongdoer is also now in a much stronger, more informed position than when they started. At this stage, there are ‘no excuses.’ The greatest risk now is becoming complacent merely because the apology went well.
